[Review] Worthy Book F&B Edition 2015 - 2016

Worthy Book F&B Edition 2015 - 2016 offers savings at various restaurants and cafes, and outlets are categorised based on their geographic location (by area, states and even shopping mall) and cuisine type. With 45 brands to choose from, this coupon book gives you more than RM3,000 worth of savings in freebies and discounts and all coupons valid through to 30 September 2016. Some of the brands include Morganfield's, Sushi Tei, MyBurgerLab and JuiceWorks. Besides, the editors have featured some recommendations for each restaurant to ensure you wouldn't miss them out.

How it works? With 3 simple steps, browse, tear and redeem and you may enjoy your food! Browse through the worthy book, tear out the voucher of your choice and redeem it by presenting the voucher upon ordering. Remember to read the terms and conditions before redeem the voucher to avoid any disappointment.

I find this worthy book very useful especially for a low paid employee like me and my office is just right beside the shopping mall whereby a meal would simply cost me 10 or 20 bucks and above. In addition, GST has been implemented since April and it makes us even harder to thrive in a bad economy, this worthy book just come right in time and it definitely helps me to save a lot on food (eg. buy 1 free 1 udon dishes at Manmaru Udon which I've used recently).

Worthy Book F&B Edition 2015 - 2016 is available at major bookstores (MPH, Popular, Times, Borders, Kinokuniya), selected myNEWS.com, Klang Valley 7-Eleven outlets or you may purchase it online at www.worthybook.sto.my for RM29.90 only.

[Review] Indulge, TGV 1 Utama

Are you having holidays right now? Are you suffering from stress? Or are you looking for places for first date or anniversary? If yes, then you must not miss out this blog post and make sure stay till the end!

Thanks to the Butterfly Project, I was invited to the Butterfly Girls Night Out experience with TGV Indulge together with other sponsors, 123 Cheese Photobooth and Muse by Watsons. If you're wondering, TGV Indulge is actually the first luxury cinema in TGV 1 Utama.

"As one of Malaysia's first and largest multiplex cinema operators, TGV Cinemas is constantly striving to redefine the cinema experience for our customers, regardless the age or movie preference. Indulge, therefore is TGV Cinemas' pioneering foray at combining fine-dining and cinema entertainment creating a luxury cinema experience." said the Chief Executive Officer of TGV Cinemas.

With its own private ticketing counter, lounge and dining area and also two exclusive cinema halls which is fitted with reclining chairs and personalized call-waiter-service that can accommodate 32 and 40 pax respectively, Indulge is TGV Cinema's latest unique cinema concept that stands apart from all its current chain of locations and halls.

I was welcomed by soft jazzy tones when I enter the lounge. The rich purple and silver facade provides a distinct element of class to the lounge and dining area as I was greeted by their staffs and Butterfly volunteer team.

As I've mentioned, TGV Indulge has its own dining area and we're so lucky that we get to try out their 10-course fine dining. I was told that their in-house chefs have collectively more than 40 years of experience in Asian and Western fusion cooking hence I was really looking forward to try out their signature dishes. No doubt the appearance already captured my heart, but does it tastes as good as how it looks? :P

Pumpkin Salad @ RM15

Smoked Duck Salad @ RM15

Lamb Koftas @ RM14

Stuffed Potato Skins @ RM12

Grilled Salmon @ RM28

Grilled Lamb Rack @ RM28

Cajun Chicken @ RM20

Nutty Tortilla Banana @ RM12

Panna Cotta @ RM12

I gotta say that their foods do live up to expectation in relation to their price range from RM8-RM30 each. Of course you can't compare it with other fine dining restaurants but it is good enough for a cinema's dining hall. My favourites would be stuffed potato skins, grilled salmon, cajun chicken and nutty tortilla banana. The salads are lack of seasoning, lamb koftas was a bit too dry and salty while the grilled lamb rack was too hard for my preference. I'm not a professional food blogger and it's just my two cents based on my personal preference.

Since there are 10-course meals, bite-sized portion of foods were served so that we get to try out every single type without getting bloated.

With my lovely ladies of the night: (From L-R) Ker Chi, Ker Yi, Miriam and yours truly. It feels great to catch up with my long lost buddies :)

After enjoying our luxurious dinner, we were ushered to the movie hall for "Lucy". I really love how they decorate the whole area and we've stopped halfway for a few times to take pictures :P

I got really excited when I enter the movie hall. That reclining chair, cozy blanket and personalized call-waiter-button, I wish I can watch movie here everyday! Girls, now you can dress in your best outfit to enjoy dinner with your loved one and watch movie after that without worrying that you will freeze inside the movie hall. :P

If you're rushing and no time to enjoy dinner at the dining area, you're allowed to order and eat in the cinema hall too. Food will be served in a bento box and cut into smaller pieces, so you don't need to worry about cutting your steak inside the cinema heh.

Overall, it was such a luxurious experience with TGV Indulge, from food to the seats and services etc. Not only for the discerning cinema-goer, TGV Indulge is also suitable for private and corporate functions with catering provided regardless with or without a movie screening. Definitely one of the top notch luxury cinema in Malaysia!

TGV Indulge is opened from 11AM with tickets priced at RM45 each (meals not included). For more information about Indulge and to book tickets, please log on to www.tgv.com.my or via TGV Cinemas' Movie Buddy app which is available on the Apple App and Google Play store.

Wonder Food Adventure @ 1 Utama

In conjunction with 1 Utama's Wonder Food event from 4th to 24th November 2013, 50 bloggers from the Butterfly Project (including me!) were invited to a food adventure to explore and savour the wide variety of chic eateries offered at 1 Utama Food Street. Shoppers can now visit 1 Utama's Food Street to satisfy their cravings for authentic local street food instead of travelling to Penang or Malacca! There are many more restaurants around here but there were only 15 participating food and beverages outlet for this campaign.

LG Promenade: SS2 Goreng Pisang, Ninja Joe, Seaweed Club, I Love Yoo, Eat & Happy Yong Tau Foo, Oyster King, Bisou, Mr Cendol, Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh, Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights.

LG Highstreet: Lammeeya, BBQ Chicken, Food Box, Vivo American Pizza and Panini, and Lava.

Grabbed my passport and we are good to go! ^_^

First stop: Vivo American Pizza and Panini

Started with the secret recipe of the Horrigan family, Vivo American Pizza and Panini served the best American style pizza in town using the traditional method of baking. The ambience of the restaurant is also very good for a small family gathering. At Vivo, you can order rice dishes or panini sandwhiches apart from pizza and paste. :)

They're having the 50% off pizza deals every Monday to Friday! No harm trying out right? :)

Smoked Chicken BBQ Pizza topped with chicken strips, fresh mushrooms, onions, red & green capsicums, black olives topped in Vivo's special BBQ sauce. Well I don't really eat vege but I find this tastes good actually! One of the signature dish in Vivo that you shouldn't miss out :)

Baked Chicken Chop marinated with special spices & seasoning and baked to perfection. Bon appetit!

Volcanic Chocolate with Ice Cream! One of our favourites during our visits to Vivo American Pizza & Panini where we gobbled it up within seconds once it was served. Everyone was so shocked yet surprised that they offer such gastronomical desserts! I'll definitely going back and try out some other desserts like chocolate brownie and blueberry pizza with ice cream (that sounds interesting I know! :P)

2nd stop: Molten Lava

With the colourful entrance, I bet you wouldn't miss out the yummy looking photos of churros and macaroons displayed right over at their counter. Molten Lava is a shop specialized in churros and funnel cakes perfect for dessert lovers like you and me!

A churro, sometimes referred to as a Spanish doughnut, is a fried-dough pastry-based snack, sometimes made from potato dough, that originated in Spain. There are two types of churros in Spain; one is thin (knotted) and the other is long and thick (porra). They both are normally eaten for breakfast dipped in hot chocolate or topped with cinnamon sugar.

It's my first time trying churros actually, I gotta say that it tastes heavenly! Crispy on the outside and soft & fluffy on the inside, plus the cinnamon sugar awww... love at first bite ♥ I would love to try out their filled churros eg. dipped with chocolate or sambal ikan bilis(?!) and funnel cakes during my next visit teehee.

3rd stop: Bisou Bake Shop

Handmade with the best ingredients and utmost care, they take pride in making the best tasting treats for every customers. Sporting a selection of homestyle cupcakes, cakes and cookies, there is something to suit every palate. With 13 cupcake flavours everyday and an additional "Cupcake of the Month", cupcake lovers are spoilt for choice! And for those who would perhaps prefer a bigger piece of cake, they have a fabulous selection that includes their very famous Banoffee Pie and a Real Black Forest Gateau.

Every little corner at Bisou Bake Shop is like a piece of art as they put in a lot of effort decorating their shop primarily white with dark chocolate and pink accents that echo the rich chocolate in the cakes they serve.

Cupcake of the month, Chocolush. Chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese frosting... yumm!

4th stop: Seaweed Club

The cosy kiosk of Seaweed Club present a light and healthy alternative to meals with seaweed salad popiah brimming with juicy yam beans, special sauces, fresh cucumber and crunchy carrots contained within fragrant roasted seaweed. You may choose to dine-in or takeaway your personal favourites ranging from original, spicy, wasabi, tuna and vegetarian options before continuing on shopping adventures. For your information, Seaweed Club does not serve pork or alcohol on its menu.

Two big LCDs displaying their signature seaweed salad popiah and promotion of the month.

5th stop: Eat & Happy Yong Tau Foo

Ready to be spoiled with over 30 varieties of yong tau foo to choose from and immerse these mouth-watering pieces in soup or try it together with their signature curry sauce. You may also turn in into a hearty meal by adding on rice or noodles. RM7.90 for a bowl of noodles and three pieces of yong tau foo, I think it's quite reasonable and it's definitely a good choice for those who are looking for cheaper meals in 1 Utama.

6th stop: I Love Yoo

Crunchy You Tiao, freshly made Tau Fu Fa - well-loved and familiar Chinese snacks; I Love Yoo aims to give food lovers a taste of the traditional, with a modern twist. Their foods are suitable for all levels of consumers of any race and religion that even my mum, boyfriend and I love to visit I Love Yoo very much. When I was doing my part time job at Publika, I often visits I Love Yoo for some snacks or tea time treats. My favourites are butterfly bun, sesame ball (comes with 3 flavours!) and tau fu fa. :)

Their foods are freshly made daily and they do not use preservatives. No pork/lard used.

7th stop: SS2 Goreng Pisang

A homegrown business started with a humbling beginning in the early 1980s by Madame Ong & Mr Wong from bicycle food carts to a small yet cosy kiosk in 1 Utama. All the while, they strive to source for top quality produce from the local fresh market and local supplier to maintain the original texture and taste of their delicacies without additional additives and preservatives due to the constant demand of their fritters specialty.

One of their signature: banana fritters. Look at that crispy golden outer layer of banana fritters... *slurp*
They only use Pisang Raja as their banana fritters due to its incomparable sweetness, texture and suitability for frying. Besides, their secret recipe of their unique & crispy fritters is a distinctive mixture of flour and rice flour. There are no unknown additives or preservatives added to their recipe.

8th stop: Ninja Joe

Ninja Joe is an original Japanese quick serve concept best known for delicious pork burgers! As one of the pioneering burger joints, Ninja Joe boasts fresh, made to order, juicy pork patty servings packed between custom bake, ninja-sliced buns, served with amiable sidekicks of fries and drinks.

Now they do serve sandwhiches, hotdogs and bento too.

Hikkori BBQ Smoked Burger on the board! The patty was rather juicy and well-seasoned, paired with the crispy smoked bacon... it's delicious!

Jia Qi, my new friend and she's so cute & friendly :)

With Trislynn, the crazy girl as usual teehee!

Indeed it was a happy fattttty day walking around and hunting for foods with my foodie bloggers! Thanks to 1 Utama and the Butterfly Project for this precious wonder food adventure, we were also given a big goodies bag which consists of a pillow, towel, power bank, voucher and OneCard!
