[Food Review] Killer Gourmet Burgers (KGB) @ Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar

Following the latest burger craze in town, another new burger joint - KGB (Killer Gourmet Burgers) opened in Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar few weeks ago.

“We take extraodrinary care to details in order to produce the best tasting food available, starting with our handcrafted burgers made from ground steak and freshly baked artisan buns. We high recommend that you try one without the distraction of sauces and topping, just to prove a point. Talking about sauces, we will spoil you for choice with a selection of dips, toppings and seasoning made from the freshest ingredients unlike anything you've seen. Sidekicks to the burgers come in the form of 8+ types of gourmet fries, 6+ types of fried chicken, salads, onion rings and many more. Have a sweet tooth? Well, you will be spoiled for choice with decadent handmade ice creams, shakes and more!

Freshly baked bread with their signature stamp "KGB" :3

Sunshine Bella with grilled portobello, fried egg and garlic aioli (vege)

Bella Bomb (meaty) with grilled patty, 2x portobello cheese bomb and shack sauce
Honestly I fell in love with this burger at first bite. The burger patty is very juicy and it mix well with the shack sauce, one of their special sauce where they use mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup and spices to make it. Besides, they use three types of cheese stuffed inside the big mushroom (portobello cheese bomb): parmesan, cheddar and mozzarella, which makes it more tasty. Thumbs up (Y)

Bash with grilled patty, beef bacon relish, provolone cheese, caramelized onions and cornflakes
Burgers with cornflakes?! At first I was like "huhhh why they put cornflakes inside the burgers?" but after I taste it, I was wrong. It goes well with the patty and cheese and it makes the burger more crunchy! I also love the idea that they use caramelized onions instead (it's sweet!!!), best for vege/onions haters like me :D

Kickin' with parm crusted chic, sharp cheddar and wasabi mayonnaise
It is quite special because they use wasabi mayonnaise as the sauce and the taste is very light, so no worries for non-wasabi eaters :) Besides, the chicken breast is very juicy and surprisingly, it blends well with wasabi mayo.
PS// KGB use chicken breasts for all of their chicken burgers.

Tornado with grilled patty, onion ring, fried egg and fiery mayonnaise
Tornado is good but I just don't like the fiery mayonnaise (quite spicy!) and it is kinda messy to have fried egg, grilled patty and onion ring together. I'd recommend you to take out the onion ring and eat separately as you can't taste anything except for the fiery mayonnaise. Besides, it is very oily due to the onion ring and fried egg, I guess. :/

Seoul with parm crusted chic, fried egg, kimchi mayonnaise and kimchi
Too bad I didn't get to try it but I think it's very good (what I heard from the other bloggers lah :p) and special as I've never eat any kimchi burgers before. Definitely coming back for this! :)

The Shack with smashed patty, sharp cheddar and shack sauce

Truffle'd Fries

Kimchi with Bulgogi Beef Fries
My favourite among the others! It is kinda special but I personally think that the kimchi taste are not strong enough and it overpower by the beef.

Herbed Fries
The herbed fries are not my cup of tea because I just hate the strong smell of herbs and it's quite salty.

Spicy Cajun Fries
I don't know whether is it the herbed fries are too salty or what, I can only taste a bit of spiciness when I try the cajun fries.

Shortrib Poutine
I've never try any shortrib poutine before so I can't talk much about it but from what I heard from the other bloggers, they claimed that it's like a fake version of shortrib poutine, either the fries are too hard or too little gravy and sauce.

Thanks to Foodirector and KGB Bangsar, it was a great dining experience as I get to try many different types of burgers and meet new people. I liked how they come out with different types of burgers and fries but I think they need to improve on the taste like the spicy cajun fries, I can only taste a little bit of spiciness in it. Besides, there's also an optionally where you can swap the beef patty for a grilled chicken if you can't take beef, which is a plus point. Not forgetting to mention that they use 100% Australian grass fed ground beef for their patty :)
PS// This is based on my individual tastes.

So last weekend I was invited to Burt's Bees Smacking Summer Lip Shades Workshop at TGC workshop area, The Gardens Mall. Through this workshop, you can learn how to build various in-trend lips effect using natural lip colour and discover the perfect shades that complement you best.

Upon registration, lip brush was given to let us practice and try on different lip colour later during the workshop.

The wide range of Burt's Bees lip gloss

A brief introduction about Burt's Bees. Burt's Bees is an "Earth friendly, Natural Personal Care Company" originated from North Carolina, US. They use all natural ingredients, engage in environmentally friendly business practices and extend its humanitarian efforts to the community at large as they operate under a business model referred to as "The Greater Good". Besides, every product has a "natural bar" label which helps you to identify the high level of natural ingredients used in that product.

The Burt’s Bees lip colour collection: (from left) lip gloss, lip shine, tinted lip balm and lip shimmer. Among them, tinted lip balm is the bestseller in Burt’s Bees!

We have a volunteer to go on stage and show us how to apply tinted lip balm and lip shine correctly. Spotted the slides behind? :)

The lip shine collection. Remember that lip shine is always used for layering only. For example, you can apply tinted lip balm or lip shimmer first, then only dab some lip shine in the middle of your lips to create pouty effects.

and now our turn to apply the lip colour ourself *chuu*

Second volunteer of the day, Swee San, applying lip gloss teehee

Makeup/dressing tips:  Remember to put on makeup (red/plums lips recommended) when you’re wearing black colour shirt or put on some accessories to hype up your look.

Speaker of the day, Josephine. She's an image consultant too where she taught us a lot of things during the workshop :)

Edo Ichi Sushi @ First Subang Mall

Hello sunshine! Sorry for the lack update as I was sick and busy studying for exams that I'm having finals tomorrow! Yes, finals tomorrow yet I'm blogging here right now. Can you feel how much I love you guys? ♥ I know my blog has been turning into beauty and commercial blog lately hence I'm going to update about my life and fooood yay

So it was my boyfriend's birthday few weeks ago and I decided to bring him out for some Japanese cuisine since he has been craving for sashimi. So sad to say that the birthday plan was abit fail because he's such a spoiler! He kept asking "Where are we going later? What we gonna eat? Why are we going there?" etc. He even guess that we're going to have Japanese food later grrr ._.

PS// Photos taken by phone in low light condition so it's not that clear

So here we are! Edo Ichi Sushi @ First Subang Mall :)

Sashimi to Unagi Set

The main reason why I chose Edo Ichi. I've heard a lot of good reviews about their sashimi and indeed it's very fresh and the portion is just nice :)

I love their unagi very much especially the sauce! But it's a little bit too sweet compared with the other restaurants, I think some of you may not like it

Chawan mushi

Salmon Mentai Yaki

Edo Ichi adopts a concept of Japanese cuisine similar to Japan which centers around the four seasons and the unique food items each season brings. Besides their standard menu, they also have a seasonal menu which features food procured within specific seasons and time in Japan. Upon request and booking, Edo Ichi can also procure specific seasonal items (limited to within the season itself) and personalized made-to-order dishes for customers. I think it's one of the reasons why you must pay a visit to Edo Ichi! :)

Overall it was great night dining in Edo Ichi Sushi @ First Subang Mall. I love the environment there, good services, good food and good companion :p I'm definitely going back for more and try out the other outlet @ Publika (loving their interior design!). Alright, Imma stop here and continue study. More updates after finals okay! :)
