[Beauty Review] Tsubaki Shining Hair Care Range

What is the first thing that you notice when you're meeting someone new? A survey was conducted by Zoosk.com and surprisingly, 89% of men actually said that good hair is the first thing they notice and hairstyles were the sexiest part of women. It's the same goes to women where we often see our hair as a reflection of our identity which explains why we're willing to fork out a large amount of money to go to hair salons for spa and treatment from time to time.

Today I'm going to review a premium hair care product that you guys should be very familiar with, Tsubaki Shining hair care range. Tsubaki was first launched in March 2006 in Japan, a brand which centers on making hair beautiful and shiny and focused on the idea of helping every woman unleash their hairs' potential to become beautiful.

Tsubaki actually takes after the name of Camellia flower representing moisture and shine which you can see it's all over the packaging of their products. It is the only brand that has Camellia Oil as its ingredients and there are only two countries that have this oil; China and Japan, where Japan has been providing the finest Camellia for 140 years. Japanese Camellia Oil has been responsible for the classic, legendary beauty of Japanese hair for centuries in Japan.

Shiseido was the first to discover the hair melanin is lost daily due to UV and many other factors. The loss of melanin created a hole which causes irregular reflection and loss of shine of hair. Hence, they have now introduced a melanin reparative ingredient - Arginine which repairs melanin hole to allow light to penetrate hair shaft and to be reflected evenly, resulting in a lustrous and glorious hair.

Tsubaki Shining Shampoo (550ml @ RM38.90)

Direction: Apply an appropriate amount of shampoo and massage into hair. Lather out and rinse off thoroughly with warm water.

The texture of the shampoo is quite runny in consistency with pearl white finish and it lathers up very well with a bit of mixing with water. While for the conditioner which is clearly thicker compared to the shampoo, yet it feels very smooth and lightweight.

Tsubaki Shining Conditioner (550ml @ RM38.90)

Direction: After shampooing, apply an appropriate amount of conditioner throughout hair. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.

Tsubaki Shining Hair Mask (180g @ RM44.90)

Direction: After shampooing, squeeze out the excess water before applying evenly onto hair. Massage gently and rinse off with cold water after approximately 5 minutes.

Tips: Rinse your hair with cold water helps to close the cuticle and seal in the moisture to each hair strand, leaves it shiny, frizz-free and even protects your hair colour. You may shampoo your hair with warm water but it's essential to finish it with a cold rinse.

As usual, the hair mask is very thick and rich in texture. It glides smoothly on my hair and I love how it makes my hair so soft and tangle-free each time after using it.

I'm so glad to say that my hair has gotten so much better after using Tsubaki Shining hair care range. I would first describe my hair condition which I have normal to oily scalp with dry, frizzy and a little split ends (that's terrible, I know). I can see slight improvement after using it that it does moisturize my hair and makes my hair shine, literally! I love the fact that it doesn't weigh my hair down and did a great job in cleansing my scalp thoroughly. Among these three, my favourite product would be Tsubaki Shining Hair Mask undoubtedly because it nourishes my hair and appears less frizzy and dry after a few usage.

Packaging wise, the newly launched Tsubaki Shining hair care range comes in bright red colour bottle with Camellia flower prints on it, which is very eye-catchy and attractive. The pump dispenser is very convenient and one pump (about a coin-sized quantity) is sufficient for my entire head. Fyi, it also comes in a travel-friendly sized of 220ml @ RM18.90. Besides, I love the fragrance of Tsubaki hair care products which smells like Camellia flower and surprisingly, it could last for about half day. Overall, it has done a great job on maintaining my hair condition and prevents further breakage.

For those who are looking for an alternative hair care brand, I would recommend you to go for Tsubaki Shining hair care range especially if you have long, black hair. Tsubaki Shining hair care range is suitable for normal to dull hair and is currently available at all Watson's, Guardian, Aeon Wellness, Aeon Big, Mercato, Cold Storage, Sasa and Tesco.

  10. I guess seeing how nice and shiny your hair is just says how effective the shampoo is. You should be a commercial model for this shampoo.

  11. Looks interesting, who doesn't want shiny hair for themselves right? Although I'm going to have to read the ingredients on the label first before I try out the Tsubaki hair care line. I'm not so much into chemicals, more into all natural and organic products. :)

  25. There are many products made to help slow down hair loss. Shampoos, conditioners and Dht blocking hair growth Conditioner treatments are on the market to give those who need them hope that they may be able to hold on to a full head of hair. Hair loss products do provide some relief for their users.
