Happy new year in advance peeps! I just got home from Bangkok yesterday (will update about it soon!) and it's less than 48 hours to year 2014. How time flies awww.. Throughout the year 2013, I've been exposed to many beauty events, product reviews, treatments and etc. and I've gained lots of knowledge about how to take care of my skin, daily skincare routine, and even learn how to make up! My biggest challenge of the year as I still couldn't draw a proper eyeliner and use eyelash curler ops :p To welcome year 2014, I've made a list of beauty resolutions and pamper myself more ♥
1. Use organic skincare products (eg. Yadah)
I bet most of you are very familiar with Yadah, a range of botanical skincare products for teens and young adults formulated with natural plant extracts like essential oils, floral water, barks and traditional herbs etc. that works in perfect harmony with the skin. The gentle yet effective formulas are 100% free from artificial colouring, preservatives, mineral oil and sulphate and do not contain animal extracts of any kind. They are most suitable for young skin as this particular age range have more tender skin that is more vulnerable to harsh chemicals.
The unique key ingredient found in all Yadah products is the native Opuntia Ficus extract, a unique cactus species organically grown and cultivated in Korea. Opuntia Ficus is known for its strong anti-inflammatory and high potent antioxidant properties which help neutralize free radicals harmful to the skin. Cactus is one of the few rare plants that can survive extreme weather conditions from the scorching hot barren sands to the freezing harsh winters in the deserts because of its unique ability to reduce water loss and it is for this very reason that it is able to prevent water evaporation from the epidermis and acts as a natural moisturizer to keep skin soft and hydrated both indoors and outdoors.
I've got my very first Yadah product from HiShop, Yadah Natural Shampoo few months back. It is paraben-free, silicone-free and colorant-free and it does help to soothe my sensitive and irritated scalp. It delicately cleanses and purifies my scalp without drying out the scalp leaving hair smelling naturally fresh and clean. I've been using it for months and it has reduces my hair loss problem weee ^_^
Besides, I'm using Yadah Anti Trouble Spot pimple cream currently and I'm loving it! The high potent concentrated formula helps reduce spots, blemishes and blackheads gently yet effectively without drying or burning the skin surface. Combats inflammation, improves skin immunity without irritation and promotes healing. I'm gonna get my hands on the Yadah Anti Trouble range (shown in the picture above) once I've finished my current skincare products!
2. Beauty sleep
3. Drink at least 2 litres of water a day
Human needs about 2 litres of water a day where too little water can cause all sorts of problems. Water aids in digestion, makes your skin look healthier, helps you feel more full so you don't overeat, keeps your kidneys healthy and contributes to regular healthy bowel movements. You lose out on those benefits if you don't stay hydrated. Additionally, dehydration makes you feel tired and fatigued. Quotes from Dr. Pamila Brar:
"Dehydration makes you feel tired. The right amount of water will help your heart pump your blood more effectively, and water can help your blood transport oxygen and other essential nutrients to your cells. Water also helps energize your muscles and prevents cramping. This is especially important if you find yourself tired at the gym. You should drink two cups of water about two hours before you exercise."
4. Do masks 3 times a week
Well I'm such a lazy bump that I only do masks once a week or even once a fortnight especially exam period. Face masks can moisture our skin, remove excessive oils, tighten pores, exfoliate, reduce puffiness and etc depending on their ingredients. Doing a face mask is a relaxing way to pamper ourselves and improve our skin. Oh yes, I must learn to pamper myself more and my skin! :P
So I've listed out my beauty resolution for 2014, how about you? :)
